With over a decade of experience turning complexity into clarity, I’ve worn many hats, navigating complex projects across diverse sectors, including healthcare, education, and research. Along the way, I’ve honed my skills in data visualization, analytical problem-solving, and end-to-end project coordination, all driven by a single guiding principle: organization empowers excellence.
That’s why I co-founded Clarity Layer. Together with Alexandra’s deep expertise in governance frameworks and client-facing strategy, we can move mountains — while I keep the strings neatly in hand so that creativity and innovation can flow.
I chose this path because I believe quality is deeply rooted in well-designed processes and that ethical data handling isn’t optional, it’s essential. My degree in philosophy gives me a strong foundation for navigating the ethical dimensions of data work, ensuring decisions are not only effective but responsible.
For me, governance isn’t bureaucracy, it’s peace of mind. Because when the foundation is solid, decisions get faster, work gets smoother, and results speak for themselves.
Alexandra Popa, Principal
Alexandra Popa is the founder of Clarity Layer and currently serves as Governance Expert and Data Steward at KION Group's global equipment lifecycle platform, operating across 15 countries and 3 continents.
She has spent 15 years building data functions where getting governance wrong had real consequences. Close to a decade in medical research, clinical trials, epidemiological studies, research methodology, and regulatory submissions where data traceability is not optional. Then into global manufacturing and industrial operations spanning multiple subsidiaries, federated systems, and cross-border regulatory requirements.
She built the GovernanceEngine: proprietary tooling that translates governance policies into database-level restrictions and automated quality checks. She has trained 500+ professionals in data methodology and spoken at 3 international conferences.
Her regulatory expertise covers GDPR, NIS2, AI Act, DORA, EU Data Act, and GxP. Not at policy level, but at the level of data flows, structures, and what regulators actually examine.
